Starting with 01.03.2018, ICI-ROTLD will apply a new policy for the registration and maintenance of „.ro” domain names.
The holders of „.ro” domain names will be able to pay the maintenance service fee for a period of minimum 1 year and a maximum of 10 years.
The expiry date of the domain names will be calculated starting from the principle that the old registration fee must cover at least 5 years of maintenance.
Thus:
- the domain names registered before 01.03.2013 will be granted a minimum grace period of 3 months for the payment of the maintenance service, so the first domain names will expire beginning with 01.06.2018;
- while for the other domain names, a period of 5 years will be added to the most recent date between the registration date of the domain name and the date of the last transfer of the use right (domain trade).
The fee will be of 6 EUR/year + VAT for the registrars accredited by ROTLD and 12 EUR/year + VAT for the direct sale on the website www.rotld.ro.
